Frequently Asked Questions

What is shred ministry? Shred ministry is another term for action sports ministry. For us, it's skateboarders, surfers, skiers, and snowboarders. Shred sports is our modality with the youth demographic being a special focus - but really, we are all about the Great Commission and do not limit ourselves in sharing God's love and are open to going wherever the Spirit leads!

Can I get involved? YES, please join us! We need more people who love Jesus to join us out there as we share the love of Christ in our community. There's a place for you with DTL whether on the slopes, beaches, or parks, in student communities, or behind the scenes in operations! We would love to find a way for you to serve. Click on contact us.

Can I skate, surf, ride, or ski with y'all even if I'm not ready to volunteer? That would be epic! Hit us up to meet at a skatepark or to longboard or surf-skate along the beach.  When there's swell, look for us around 12th Street at The Wall. Winters we're mostly at Gunstock, but our passes also work at Waterville Valley, Cranmore, and Cannon. Want to meet up? DM us!

Got a ministry verse? Yep, sure do! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Many of our own volunteers have faced significant health battles - whether chronic illness, cancer, anxiety, or depression - this verse is fitting as it reminds us it is Christ’s strength that empowers us to accomplish anything we do. All the glory to God as He uses such imperfect and broken people as laborers for His Kingdom.

Do you partner with other organizations? We do! As an active part of The ACTS Network, we are well-networked with other national and international action sport ministry organizations and regularly connect and collaborate to impact the world for Jesus.
