Frequently Asked Questions
What is shred ministry? Shred ministry is another term for action sports ministry. For us, it's skateboarders, surfers, skiers, and snowboarders. Shred sports is our modality with the youth demographic being a special focus - but really, we are all about the Great Commission and do not limit ourselves in sharing God's love and are open to going wherever the Spirit leads!
Got a ministry verse? Yep, sure do! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Many of our own volunteers have faced significant health battles - whether chronic illness, cancer, anxiety, or depression - this verse is fitting as it reminds us it is Christ’s strength that empowers us to accomplish anything we do. All the glory to God as He uses such imperfect and broken people as laborers for His Kingdom.
Do you partner with other organizations? We do! As an active part of The ACTS Network, we are well-networked with other national and international action sport ministry organizations and regularly connect and collaborate to impact the world for Jesus.
Looking for other amazing action sports ministries? Check out our friends at Snowboarders & Skiers for Christ, Christian Surfers, Christian Skaters, Ride Nature, FCA Action Sports, and The Grind Sk8 Conference... just to name a few. Local skaters, check out the FREE, indoor skatepark being built by Vessel Skatepark in Worcester, MA! Opening day is 10/1/22.
Are you a church? No; we love the local church and do not seek to replace that! As a parachurch organization, we desire to be a bridge between the local church and the community. DTL is all about building and fostering church partnerships. Would your church like to partner with us? Email us!
Are you a non-profit? Yes. While we pursue our own 501(c)(3) status in the state of NH, we can receive tax-deductible donations as a chapter of Christian Skaters International. For more information click here. All funding goes directly into the ministry; all team members and directors are volunteers.
